What we do…
And how we do it!
Flux Engineering is a partnership of two mechanical engineers, both with a Master’s and a PhD degree from the University of Twente. We specialize in performing complex numerical analyses and simulations. As our customer you can expect direct and personal interaction with us. We like to bring our expertise and work in close collaboration with your team to understand your unique challenges and solve them together! As a small company, we are very flexible and quick to adapt.
Our main expertise is fluid dynamics and heat transfer. Our purpose is to
- provide insight into the flow phenomena in your technical products and installations
- help you make design decisions that make your systems more efficient, sustainable and reliable
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a great tool to speed up prototyping, analyze new designs, predict the performance under different operating conditions and identify areas for improvement. It provides detailed information about how pressure, velocity, temperature, phase fractions, particles, etc. are distributed in your application.
Depending on the purpose of the application, information from the simulations can be used to calculate forces on structures, predict heat transfer, separation performance, air quality, energy consumption, and so on. It minimizes the need for physical testing, which can be expensive and time-consuming. Furthermore, it is better for our planet: optimization before actually building your design means less energy and material consumption!
1
Computational Fluid Dynamics
We have years of in-house CFD experience for various flow types such as incompressible and compressible flows with heat transfer, multi-phase flows using Euler-Euler or Euler-Lagrange simulation approaches, multi-species flows, thin-film flows (as encountered in lubrication for example), flows with phase changes, etc.
2
Research and Development
Do you have a knowledge gap relating to a complex flow phenomenon? Besides performing numerical simulations, we can also help you by performing a literature study, identify the (dimensionless) parameters through dimensional analysis, and investigate which models can best be used to simulate the phenomenon.
3
Software Engineering
Besides using existing simulation software, we also write our own software or implement new models in open source software if necessary. We can also build software customized to your needs.
